Located in Jackson County North Carolina, surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, and situated in the geographic, cultural, and archeological heart of the Southern Appalachian mountains, The Loft offers a unique homelike setting for whatever work or contemplation you have in mind.

Inside the cabin-like retreat, you will find an open room, bathroom, and kitchen facilities best suited for groups of seven to eighteen people. The Loft features locally harvested, clear pine walls, soaring cathedral ceiling, and circular window that sometimes frames the moon. A smoke and allergen-free space, it’s great for both day retreats and couples or small family vacation getaways. The Loft is available for vacation rentals through Air B&B and is called The Loft at Harvest Moon Gardens, number 4720183.

  • Fresh spring water from one of our five springs
  • A fire circle for singing, roasting marshmallows, or other outdoor activities
  • A suspended bridge high over a rhododendron covered stream bed
  • Smaller bridges over creeks and small waterfalls
  • Wooded trails, and an overlook deck to best see the mountain view of the Plott Balsam Range
  • Mature and well tended flower and vegetable gardens
  • The services of an experienced group facilitator, if needed, with more than thirty-five years experience in a variety of facilitation modalities including: strategic planning and group process; open space technology; scenario planning; consensus and team building
  • Catered meals are available for scheduled retreats only and can be arranged by emailing or calling us at 828.506.4221.

If your group needs overnight accommodations, we have excellent arrangements with two fine local bed and breakfast inns and a cabin or two only ten minutes away.
